About the Photographer

David Goodman Photography Crawley Photographer

Hi, I'm David.

I'm a creative visionary through and through, addicted to creating "WOW" moments in whatever way I can. Photography is my fix. For as long as I've been taking photos, I've been chasing that high in every image I take. I can't sleep at night unless I know I've made something great!

I'm completely self-taught and self-motivated with over 5 years experience. In a time where everyone owns a phone or camera and anyone can be a photographer, no one captures the world the same way I do.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where are you based?
My Home studio is based just 5 minutes drive outside of Crawley, West Sussex. The studio address can be found on the contact page HERE. We cover venues and locations within a generous radius of Crawley.
  • How do I get my photos?
When the final images are ready to be released you will receieve a email download link via WeTransfer. This is the file transfer service I use as it is simple and safe. Your download link will expire after 1 week but you are welcome to request a new link at any time at no extra charge.
  • How long do you keep my photos for?
All final release photos are kept indefinately and backed up regularly. Unless the client has requested for the images to be destroyed or the files are lost due to technical failure out of my contrrol, you are always able to request your photos to be re-sent to you.
  • How many photos will I get?
For normal portraiture sessions you can expect around 20 or so photos to be released. This number can be lesser or greater depending on the nature of the photo shoot. For events, this number is entirely dependant on the nature of the event. However, we aim to provide around 20 photos per hour of hire. Photo booths tend to be extremely popular and can result in 100+ photos! Due to high work flow, TFP and collaborations can expect to recieve up to 10 images
  • When will I get my photos?
I aim to turn around all shoots within 1 week. In busy periods this can be longer but you will always be kept up to date with the progress of your images. I understand some clients may have a deadline, and in these situations a quicker turn around may be possible.
  • Do I have to pay for my photos
NO! I do not agree with the standard photography business model which charges you for the booking, and then again for the product. All photos released to the client are thier's to keep!
  • Do you do prints?
Yes! We are able to provide professional photo paper prints perfect for framing. Please get in contact for a price list. If you would like to take your photo to a printing specialist, please get in contact to have my watermark removed.
  • How do I make a booking
It's simple, just get in touch! Every booking is different so I always discuss your needs and wants with you before the booking is made.
  • Can I have the original images?
Unfortunately not. This is for two reasons: 1. It's like asking an artist for thier unfinished painting. It would hurt my reputation to release unedited images as they would not reflect my style or professionalism. Trust me when I say the final images are far better than the originals! 2. Original images from the camera are processed in RAW. This is a file format that requires special software to process.
  • Do you do TFP?
If you would collaborate with me on a TFP basis, please reach out to me. If the project is mutually beneficial, a TFP agreement may be aranged. I love getting creative so dont be shy. But please be aware that high work flow may restrict my abilty to take on aditional projects on this basis.
  • Can I post your photos online?
Absolutely! In fact I encourage you to do so. I love seeing my work online and its the exact type of marketing I rely on. However, to ensure you are not in breach of copyright please always credit "David Goodman Photography", provide a link to this website or one of my social pages, or make sure my watermark is visable in the image,
  • What equipment do you use?
I literally have an entire studio full of equipment, but here's the essentials: Nikon D7100 Nikon D5200 (Backup) METZ 44 AF-1 Flash Sigma DG 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 Nikon DX 40mm 1:2.8 Sigma DC 10-20mm 1:3.5 Yongnuo 50mm 1:1.8 Adobe Lightroom
